Catherine Samuel is an associate member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance — Cecchetti Society Branch, London, England. After beginning her ballet training at the Nancy Campbell Ballet Studio in Hamilton under the direction of Nancy Campbell, Catherine Samuel continued her training at the National Ballet School in Toronto. She studied there with Betty Oliphant and Celia Franca. Catherine's introduction to tap and musical comedy came at the Nancy Campbell studios but it was enhanced when she travelled to New York to study at the International Dance School at Carnegie Hall. She was also a student of June Taylor and Roy and June Dodge at their respective studios in New York. In addition to having operated the Hamilton and Dundas branches of the Nancy Campbell Ballet Studio she has had vast experience in television and stage performance both in Canada and the United States. Catherine Samuel has choreographed various school productions within the Hamilton Board of Education as well as guest teaching at a number of area dance studios. She has also instructed in the art of dance at Hillfield-Strathallen College summer sessions. Over the years, Catherine has continued to educate and delight her students in all areas of the art of dance, from pre-ballet to professional standards. Many of her students have been accepted into the National Ballet School and are pursuing professional careers in dance.
